Western Monpura Solar Power Ltd. (WMSPL), one of our sister concerns, was established to undertake a landmark initiative: constructing the world's second-largest off-grid solar power plant in Monpura, Bangladesh. This project is currently underway.

In 2022, an agreement was signed between West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) and Western Monpura Solar Power Ltd. (WMSPL), entrusting WMSPL with the development of a 3 MW AC and 10 MW DC capacity solar-battery-diesel hybrid power station, complemented by a 22 MWh Energy Storage System (ESS). The project is designed to provide reliable electricity to the entire Monpura Island, significantly improving the quality of life for over 100,000 residents.

Project Details:

Project Name: WMSPL - 3 MW (AC) Solar PV-Battery-Diesel Hybrid Power Project
Capacity: 3 MW (AC) continuous electric power, supported by 11 MWp Solar PV, 22 MWh LiFePO4 Battery, and 3x 850 KVA prime power diesel generators as backup. The project will be fully owned and constructed by WMSPL on Monpura Island, Bhola, Bangladesh.
